Happy Nairobi Kids – Overview of Services

This video contains excerpts from an interview with Francis Kamau – the Founder and Director of Happy Nairobi Kids – orphanage in Nairobi Kenya. Many of the children have lost both parents to AIDS or have simply been abandoned and Francis has taken them in. Francis Kamau, the founder, does a great job running the orphanage and giving the kids hope but meeting the monthly budget is always a struggle. Francis does his best to obtain donations of food and clothing from the community – but most of the community is poverty stricken as well. Recently their tutor/teacher quit working with the orphanage because she could obtain a higher salary elsewhere. And sometimes the budget stretched so thin that the children are limited in what they’re allowed to eat. Francis’ goal is to keep the kids happy and healthy and to make sure they’re all given a good education so that they can pull themselves out of poverty and help their community do the same. As a former US Marine currently serving in the US Army, I found this doc to be an eye opener. Chronicling the exploits of the Grenadier Guards, 1st Royal Irish, and the infamous Coldstream Guards as captured by the Soldiers themselves, the footage shot by these men was only recently declassified by the MoD. It has since been compiled to tell their story via a BBC documentary series titled “Our War”. Watch. Reel. Learn. Our brains & minds went dead when we started thinking that Black men and Black women are two separate and distinct groups. If the men get beat down, sooner or later, the women are going to suffer. If the women have to go without, eventually the men are going to suffer. Only a bunch of fools would allow themselves to be played like that. How is it that we let any of our people get whipped and beat and the other half thinks they are going to be just fine? Ain?t that much praying and getting a good education in the world. Yu Gi Oh Abridged: The Documentary

Hey folks. This is a brief unofficial documentary that was created in the Spring of 2008 about the online hit, Yu Gi Oh Abridged for our college Media and Culture course. A lot has changed since its initial creation, however we still believe this was a neat little project of ours. Also, people seem to take umbrage with one particular line in the documentary saying that early episodes (such as the pilot) weren’t all that funny etc. This is just our opinion. If you like it, that’s great, but we just felt that in retrospect, it was weak compared to all the other awesome stuff LK has done. Obviously we’re fans, so don’t feel the need to bash us just because of one line, it’s kinda lame. All credit goes to Little Kuriboh in regards to the creation of the series. And of course to 4Kids for licensing it. -Ryouga
